The Town Council consists of seven members, elected at large for two year
terms by the voters of Scituate.
All meetings of the council
are open to the public. If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding the
Town Council Agenda items, you may contact any Town Council Member listed above.
All
powers of the town, except those belonging to Town Meetings or other departments as
provided in the Charter of the law, are vested in the Town Council.
The duties of the
Council include enactment and amendment of rules, ordinances, and resolutions which
pertain to the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, welfare; the comfort of
the people; and the protection of persons and property and other municipal functions. |
